ETIAS: what the 2027 plans mean for Polish citizens
A new Polish consular notice explains the planned ETIAS launch and why Polish citizens with a second nationality should check their Polish travel documents.
The notice describes a planned launch in 2027. It says Polish citizens do not need an ETIAS authorisation, including those who also hold another nationality. It reminds dual citizens to use valid Polish travel documents when crossing the Polish border. For a child born abroad, it also highlights Polish birth registration before a first passport application.

The consolidated mObywatel Act has been published
The official legislation service has published the consolidated text of the mObywatel Act in the 2026 Journal of Laws, item 1232.
The announcement is dated 17 September and was published on 22 September 2026. The ELI record identifies the legal position as at 8 September 2026 and links to both the published announcement and the text of the Act. A consolidated text brings the legislation together; its publication should not be read as a new rule taking effect for every user on that date.

UK settled and pre-settled status: identity-card travel reminder
The Polish consular service confirms continued identity-card travel for people covered by the EU Settlement Scheme exception.
The September notice distinguishes ordinary visitors from people with settled or pre-settled status. It explains that the identity-card exception continues for those groups and describes the treatment of biometric and older cards. The consular service also encourages travellers to obtain a passport and link it to their UK immigration status.
Why this may matter to you
This is an EUSS exception, not a general identity-card entry route for every Polish visitor. Read the notice alongside the UK guidance it links to before travelling.

Autumn changes to CEIDG and business correspondence
The ministry sets out the October e-Doręczenia milestone and the planned move to online CEIDG business registration from 1 November.
The ministry notice covers business e-Doręczenia requirements from 1 October 2026 and electronic applications to start a business in CEIDG from 1 November 2026, with an exception for minors. It also distinguishes that registration change from a later stage of digitalisation concerning changes to CEIDG entries, planned for 2028.

Online child passport applications: PESEL and consent matter
Updated UK consular instructions highlight the conditions for an online passport application for a child under 12.
The instructions say a child must be under 12 and already have a PESEL number for the online route. Without PESEL, the application needs an in-person route. They also explain parental consent, correct identity details and photograph requirements. Where a notarised consent is scanned, the original still needs to reach the consular office.
Why this may matter to you
For a child born abroad, identify any gaps in Polish birth registration and identity records before choosing the application route.
